Prospect Heights Townhouse

RKLA created three outdoor gardens as part of the gut renovation of this magnificent townhouse in the landmarked Prospect Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. RKLA collaborated with Murphy Burnham & Buttrick Architects to create exterior spaces that relate to the interior using complementary materials and color tones. In the rear ground level garden the clean neutral aesthetic is achieved using a light hued limestone carried out from the interior. It is paired with oiled ipe and an evergreen plant palette. Small rear terraces are located on the second and top floors.  The main roof terrace feature zinc planters, custom concrete pavers, ipe decking and a naturalistic plant selection that creates a private, quiet space off a new penthouse workout room.
