Situated above a busy corner in the Chelsea neighborhood, the two terraces offer a respite from the hustle of the avenue below. The living room opens onto the narrow lower terrace that faces east. Custom stainless and corten steel planters provide seasonal color for year-round interest. The upper terrace faces west with a framed view to the north of the Empire State building. The terrace acts as an outdoor spa, with a custom stainless steel hot tub and shower. Tiered planters add to the oasis feel of the space. One of the owners, an artist, collaborated with the architect on the perimeter screeing using a motif that is carried thoughout his art.
